Introduction

Fontegrive, although only 3 km from the Romanesque town of Melle in the heart of the Poitou-Charentes region of Western France, is a haven of tranquillity offering one the sense of ‘being away from it all’ - “très calme” as aptly described by the neighbours.

Fontegrive

Our shared 10 x 5 metre swimming pool is situated in spacious surroundings with a terrace, sun loungers, umbrellas and a solar shower. There is a sliding dome providing both pool security and the comfort of an indoor pool as well as the freedom of the outdoors. The guaranteed warmer water temperature extends the swimming season.

Living up to its name, the fresh water spring feeds the lavoir and the streams running through our 10 acres of pasture and woodland. A variety of birds and wildlife also share Fontegrive with us.

The quiet lanes in the surrounding countryside make walking and cycling a pleasure.
